France Upgrading Communication Networks of Domestic Security Forces

Dark/Light Mode (17/10/22)  A consortium led by Airbus and Capgemini has been selected by the French Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories as Package 2 integrator for the Réseau Radio du Futur (RRF – radio network of the future), a secure broadband network used by domestic security and emergency rescue forces.

RRF will be a national, secure and high-speed (4G and 5G) priority mobile communication system, with a high level of resilience in order to guarantee the continuum of security and emergency rescue missions on a daily basis, including in the event of a crisis or major event.

France intends to equip up to 400,000 users in the security and emergency rescue forces with RRF, allowing those users to benefit from many new data-centred services, such as video.

The project, led by France, will provide the security and emergency rescue forces with expanded help for them to carry out their daily missions as well as at major diplomatic, sporting or other events.

Capgemini’s role in the project will be to integrate the many sets of expertise provided by all the project partners, including Dell for the cloud infrastructure it will provide, in support Ericsson’s 5G telecommunications services.

For its part, Airbus will provide a solution that will allow various stakeholders to communicate via the new network, with support from a variety of partners, including Econocom, Prescom, Samsung and Streamwide.
